Overview

Distributed Authorization Service (DAS), the core element of project “Preallowed”, is an authorization (security) service for systems and applications on enterprise networks or the Internet. The DAS access control solution implements and enforces security policies across a wide range of applications, and provides a uniform mechanism for application systems to define, enforce and administer those policies for all components of distributed software systems.

DAS could play an important role in the Web 2.0 model by adding a layer of application security on top of the portfolios of existing and newly built application resources.

DAS is designed as a federation service and unified security foundation for distributed applications providing authorization services for managed access within applications. DAS is platform-independent and application implementation agnostic, meaning that it is capable of supporting application clients written for different operating systems and based on open and proprietary programming technologies.

Another benefit of DAS is lower cost of application development, deployment and management through delivery of an externalized identity and security management solution.

See Preallowed (Distributed Authorization Service) for more details.

Growth Opportunities

The purpose of offering services of distributed authorization service is to lower application development, deployment and management costs by delivering unified identity and security management for the Internet and enterprise environments. Root Locus, Inc. strategic goal is to position itself as a pioneer of authorization services for the Internet, offer a unique and superior service to enterprises, help business leaders accelerate application development and meet financial compliance requirements.

The demand and growth rate for standardized Web2.0-oriented services is high and shows no sign of slowing anytime soon. As there are no dominating participants in this huge market, we believe we can capture a market niche and actively penetrate it. Preallowed® will dramatically reduce steep project costs for web applications. Worldwide IT services revenue grew 6 percent in 2005 to $624 billion, and only 21 percent of that number is produced by the top six companies (Accenture, CSC, EDS, Fujitsu, HP, IBM), according to Gartner.
